Questions for discussion: What does good upbringing mean, in your opinion? How much is it important for a child to have a full family? What could be the consequences of being brought-up in a one-parent family? Is it possible to bring up children without punishment? Should parents use punishment at least sometimes? What is better for a child, from your point of view, to go to kindergarten or to be at home with a nanny? What is better for a child, from your point of view, to grow up alone or with brothers/sisters? Do you/ Will you bring your children up the same way you parents did? Why? Why not? What is the most important in up-bringing? Why does it happen that children from good families go the wrong way? What can we do to prevent children from having bad habits such as smoking, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, etc.?

Were there many children in your family? How many children do you have? How many would you like to have? When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? What is the most annoying or amazing thing about a being child? What were some important experiences that you had when you were child, which shaped you as a person? What is the most important thing we need to teach children? Would you ever spank your child? Do we have to answer children's questions even if they are inappropriate? Do you think that children are different today from the time when you were a child? Do you think children are more violent today than they used to be?

One study found that kids who played with blocks scored higher on language tests than kids who had no blocks. Perhaps the children with blocks simply spent less time on unproductive activities such as watching TV--but the end result was good for them in any case.
